Posting Guidelines

With many students already having published their first blog post, many students are getting an opportunity to read and comment on others’ writing!  We are so excited to see many parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and friends checking in to our new blog space!  We hope that you will leave us a comment or a question so that we can respond to you! Here are some basic blogging rules visitors should follow when leaving us a comment. These are excellent rules to consider as they focus on keeping our blog space a space that encourages growth, conversation, and communication.

  1. This blog only includes first names of students in the class. Please do not use last names that refer to students in the class. But please attach your name to your comment and refrain from commenting anonymously.
  2. Please do not post any personal information such as your email address, phone number, or house address. We never post any personal information online.
  3. Use only positive, encouraging language. We all are trying our best, but our work looks different because we all have different abilities and strengths.  We are proud of our accomplishments so please give us lots of compliments and praise!
  4. If you have to correct someone, be polite.  And you don't always need to be the one to correct somebody.  Think of it like class...If someone constantly corrected you each time you misspoke, no one would feel comfortable speaking out loud.  Writing online is the same thing.
  5. Don't say anything you wouldn't say in person.
  6. The best way to keep a conversation going on a blog post is to ask a question and stay on topic. Bring something new to the conversation.  We promise we will respond to you!
  7. Be sure to follow us by email so you can know when we post something new.
  8. As best as you are able, please model proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation. We learn from your example.
  9. If you see something that you feel should not be published to the world, please contact Ms. Toth immediately.
Ms. Toth moderates all comments for appropriate content before approving them to appear on this blog.
